Job summary

World Health Organization is seeking a Regional Adviser (Nutrition, Physical Activity and Obesity) to provide strategic planning and leadership for national policy, programme design and implementation in nutrition, physical activity and obesity within the WHO European Region.

The role requires an advanced public health degree and extensive experience in NCD prevention, with strong intersectoral collaboration and advisory capacities across multi-country settings.

Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in public health.
• Desirable: Advanced degree in social sciences, law or field relevant to the position.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience in public health programmes, particularly on non-communicable diseases and/or nutrition, physical activity and obesity.
• Experience in intersectoral capacity building and working with international organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic planning and leadership for nutrition, physical activity and obesity prevention.
• Develop and implement multi-sectoral approaches to strengthen delivery capacities.
• Represent WHO Europe and provide authoritative advice in relevant meetings.
• Coordinate technical work across nutrition, obesity, physical activity and related units.
• Mobilize partners to promote physical activity and healthy diets.

Education
