Job summary
The World Health Organization – Europe region seeks a Director for Governance, Languages, Communications and External Relations to lead external relations, communications and language services for the EURO division. This high-level role oversees governing bodies and strategic engagement with partners and donors.
Reporting to senior management, the post requires extensive leadership experience, diplomatic skills, and exceptional English writing ability to develop messaging and coordinate
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in public health, international relations, communications, social sciences or business management as essential.
- Desirable: training in public health related issues.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Regional Office's work in external relations, communications, publications, language services and governing bodies.
- Provide high-level strategic policy, managerial and diplomatic advice to senior management.
- Promote a culture of high performance, teamwork, ethics and integrity per WHO policies.
- Oversee monitoring of GPG decisions and strategic directions across regions.
- Coordinate three-level governance coordination to maximize support from HQ and country offices.
- Interact with technical directors to implement policy decisions of WHO governing bodies.
