Job summary

Hitachi Rail seeks a Quality Manager to provide assurance and discipline across safety, RAM, quality, cybersecurity, HSE, and human factors, supporting design maturity, approvals, test readiness, and handover.

The role leads audits, NCR/8D closure, supplier quality, and quality reporting, with functional authority over QA/QC systems. Hybrid work and a strong Hitachi Code of Conduct are expected.

Qualifications

• Quality management experience in rail, infrastructure or regulated engineering.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001-style systems, audits, ITPs, NCRs and handover evidence.
• Drive prevention and continuous improvement beyond inspections.
• Resilience under audits, NCRs and handover pressure.
• 7+ years QA/QC on complex infrastructure projects; ISO 9001 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Define the project quality plan, audit schedule and NCR workflow.
• Ensure teams follow approved processes and evidence quality.
• Lead quality audits, supplier surveillance and gate reviews.
• Manage customer quality issues, corrective/preventive actions and risks.
• Coordinate readiness for FAT, SAT, installation and handover dossiers.
• Apply Hitachi Code of Conduct in role decisions.
• Maintain QA/QC system and non-conformity closure discipline.
