Job Title: Quality Manager & Metrologist

Location: Allerod, DK, 3450

Business Unit: Sensor, Test & Calibration

Posting Date: Sep 12, 2026

Job Description: As the European STC Quality Manager & Metrologist, you will be based at AMETEK Denmark A/S, which operates as a full‑scope manufacturing site covering all functional areas, including sales support, new product development, manufacturing, purchasing, supplier quality, calibration laboratory operations, and customer quality activities.

In this role, you will have end‑to‑end responsibility for the Quality Management System at the Denmark site, serving as the primary quality authority and ensuring compliance with applicable standards, customer requirements, and internal AMETEK policies across the complete value chain.

In addition to the Denmark scope, the position provides limited and clearly defined quality and metrology support to other European AMETEK STC set‑ups, which together represent a minor portion of the overall role (approximately 20% of the time).

The scope outside Denmark is as follows:

  • Serbia: Support of a smaller manufacturing activity located within a larger AMETEK campus, limited to manufacturing quality and selected purchasing‑related ISO 9001 quality processes.
  • Germany, France, and the United Kingdom: Quality and technical oversight related exclusively to ISO/IEC 17025 accredited field‑service calibration activities for material test machines. These locations do not include full manufacturing or product development activities.

The role acts as the primary expert and owner of ISO 9001 for the Denmark manufacturing site and as the European subject‑matter expert for ISO/IEC 17025, which represents a higher‑level and business‑critical accreditation standard for AMETEK STC’s recuring calibration services.

You will work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, After‑Sales‑Service, Purchasing, and the Global STC Quality organization to ensure consistent application of quality standards, successful audits, and continuous improvement, while maintaining a strong hands‑on presence at the Denmark site. The position reports directly to the STC Global Quality Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall ownership, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System across all European STC sites
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements at all European sites.
  • Act as the European subject‑matter expert for ISO/IEC 17025, which represents a higher‑level and business‑critical accreditation standard for AMETEK STC’s calibration operations.
  • Maintain ISO/IEC 17025 accreditations and manage audits and relationships with accreditation and certification bodies.
  • Plan, conduct, and coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Oversee calibration and metrology programs and provide hands‑on support during peak workload periods when required.
  • Monitor quality metrics, customer complaints, and non‑conformities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing on quality‑and application‑related matters.
  • Ensure training and awareness of quality standards and objectives across European STC operations.
  • Maintain close coordination with the Global Quality Director to ensure global STC quality alignment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Metrology, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within instrumentation, test & measurement, or calibration‑related industries.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Manager with end‑to‑end responsibility for Quality Management Systems in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proven experience supporting all quality aspects of a full‑scope manufacturing site, including new product development, purchasing, supplier quality, manufacturing processes, calibration activities, and customer quality.
  • Demonstrated hands‑on expertise with ISO/IEC 17025; experience acting as accreditation owner, lead contact, or primary technical interface to accreditation bodies is strongly preferred.
  • Solid working knowledge of ISO 9001 and its practical application across manufacturing and operational processes
  • Ability to make timely, well‑founded quality decisions in a production environment involving audits, non‑conformities, corrective actions, and product realization.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with external auditors, certification bodies, and internal technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capability to drive closure of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) and sustain improvements over time.
  • Experience with instrumentation, material testing equipment, or calibration services is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated quality leadership skills, acting as a functional authority and trusted advisor across multiple functions without requiring large direct people‑management responsibility.
  • Fluency in both Danish and English, spoken and written, is required in order to operate effectively across the Denmark manufacturing site and interface with global stakeholders.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or other structured continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
