Job summary

Terma is seeking a Quality Engineer to drive quality assurance across defense and aerospace projects, ensuring compliance with AS9100, AQAP, SAE, MIL-STD, NATO STANAG and customer requirements. You will join a global QA team and support hardware and software development in multiple business areas.

Fluency in English is required; Danish is a plus. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering is required, with experience in quality management, audits, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of software engineering and software development processes.
• Ability to drive change in line with SCQM and Terma strategy.
• Clear communication and stakeholder engagement across the organization.
• Systems-level understanding of how mechanical, hardware and software components interact.
• Experience conducting well-documented projects and process audits.
• Additional qualifications in quality management, auditing, Lean or Six Sigma are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide QA input and support to BAs in hardware and software projects, often as a trusted advisor.
• Ensure customer quality requirements are identified early (via proposal and contract reviews) and documented in the QAP and flowed down to suppliers.
• Perform internal and external audits to ensure QMS conformance.
• Manage Customer Complaints efficiently to maintain high customer satisfaction.
• Participate in milestone meetings to ensure checklist compliance.
• Perform Buy-off, verifying deliverables meet quality standards.
• Manage Concessions (Deviations & Waivers) and delegations from customers (GQAR, DCMA).
• Oversee compliance evaluation concerning MIL and NATO quality standards and potential SW standards like AQAP-2210.
