Job summary

Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Protein Design at the University of Copenhagen seeks an experienced computational and data scientist to support research infrastructure and data-driven protein design projects. You will join a growing, multidisciplinary team and help integrate computational pipelines with experimental studies, enabling scalable data-driven protein design across CPD projects.

The role emphasises collaboration with CPD researchers, development of predictive models, and training

Qualifications

  • PhD in bioinformatics, data science or a related domain
  • Excellent knowledge of scientific computing and coding, e.g., Python
  • Experience with ML/AI methods and data analysis in biomolecular contexts
  • Ability to establish computational infrastructure for large-scale data

Responsibilities

  • Help develop research infrastructure and computational tools for CPD
  • Build automated pipelines converting instrument outputs into analysable data
  • Create databases of designed proteins and associated data (sequences, models, biophysical data)
  • Develop predictive models using gathered data and ML methods
  • Manage data governance plans in coordination with host departments
  • Serve as technical liaison between CPD and KU IT for computing environments
  • Contribute to grant applications and publications generated by CPD
  • Teach CPD Master’s and PhD courses on data and computational topics
  • Collaborate across CPD and external partners to advance protein design research
