Job description

Category: Research

Location: Måløv, Capital Region of Denmark, DK

Are you passionate about analytical science and eager to improve how analytical work is performed across drug discovery? Join Analysis & Separation in Therapeutics Discovery, R&D at Novo Nordisk and drive the development of standardised chromatographic workflows to support early research projects across a variety of therapeutic modalities and drug formulations.

Your new role

In this role, you will contribute to strengthening the analytical capacity by developing scalable workflows that improve efficiency, data quality and knowledge sharing across early research projects. You will establish systematic approaches for instrument setup for analytical method screening and sample analysis, enabling data‑driven and machine learning strategies.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining standardised modular chromatographic workflows that support analytical activities across early research projects
  • Establishing systematic approaches for instrument setup, testing and qualification to ensure robustness and reproducibility
  • Driving standardisation of sample preparation, handling and analytical data generation contributing to FAIR data capture and sharing
  • Leveraging AI‑enabled tools and digital solutions to enhance analytical workflows and data interpretation
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional stakeholders to enable scalable, efficient laboratory operations and to ensure high‑quality scientific decision‑making

You will work closely with colleagues and project teams across Therapeutics Discovery in a scientific environment where curiosity, innovation and a drive for continuous improvement are key to success.

Your new department

Analysis & Separation is part of Therapeutics Discovery within R&D at Novo Nordisk. The department focuses on developing analytical methods and workflows that enable characterisation of injectable and oral formulations of proteins, peptides and emerging therapeutic modalities in early drug discovery.

The team consists of 11 scientists and technicians working in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The analytical platform includes advanced liquid chromatography techniques (RP, SEC, IEX, HILIC) and detection technologies such as UV, MALS, ELS, FLR and MS, where digital solutions support efficient data management using Empower as main platform for automatic data capture.

Your skills and qualifications

To succeed in this role, you combine analytical expertise with a structured mindset and a genuine interest in improving analytical workflows and promoting digitalised laboratory solutions.

We are looking for candidates with:

  • A recent PhD or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant industry experience in Analytical Chemistry, Protein Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field
  • Hands‑on experience with chromatographic separation techniques, UPLC instrumentation and troubleshooting
  • Practical experience in analytical method development, particularly for purity or content analysis, preferably having applied Design of Experiments (DOE) or similar.
  • Experience with laboratory standardisation initiatives for efficiency gains or digitalised lab solutions and FAIR principles will be considered a strong advantage.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with strong presentation, communication and knowledge‑sharing skills
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English.
