Eurowind Energy A/S, based in Hobro, Denmark, is seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead the backlog across three software teams that support energy parks and energy trading. This senior role centers on backlog craftsmanship, clear acceptance criteria and tight collaboration with team leads, developers and the IT Portfolio Manager.
You will own the Automation & Masterdata backlog day-to-day while ensuring consistency across Trading, Automation and Explore teams.
Do you know what separates a backlog a team can build from and a backlog a team has to decode? We are looking for an experienced Product Owner who wants backlog craftsmanship to be the centre of the job — across three software teams building the platforms that run Eurowind's energy parks and energy trading.
Eurowind Energy is a global and leading developer, owner and operator of energy parks. Based in Denmark, we operate in 16 countries around Europe and in the USA, and we are continuously growing our project portfolio. We believe in a future of renewable energy, and we have an ambitious plan of becoming the next generation's "Power Major". Based on a full value chain from greenfield project development to energy trading, more than 700 team members are dedicated to creating a greener future fueled with nothing but renewable energy!
We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our IT Software department. Based at our head office in Hobro, Denmark, you will have your home base in our Automation & Masterdata team — and you will be the Product Owner who owns the backlog itself across all three of our software teams.
IT Software runs three development teams — Trading & Monitoring, Automation & Masterdata, and Explore & Interact — with more than 15 engineers between them. We have deliberately split product ownership across three people with different centres of gravity rather than one generalist per team. One of your two Product Owner colleagues also holds the Scrum Master role and owns how we work: ceremonies, flow and continuous improvement. The other also holds project management and owns delivery towards the business: timelines, dependencies and stakeholder commitments. You will own the third piece — the backlog itself.
Your day-to-day home is the Automation & Masterdata team, where six developers and a team lead build the automation, data and masterdata foundation the rest of the business relies on. But because a backlog standard is only worth something if it is the same everywhere, your work will touch stories in all three teams.
Work reaches you from two directions. Larger projects and initiatives come in through our IT Portfolio Manager, who owns intake and demand at portfolio level, so a good share of what lands in the backlog arrives already framed and prioritised at a high level. The rest comes straight from the business, often as a half-formed idea from someone who knows their own domain far better than they know software. Turning both kinds into work a team can pick up is where you make the difference.
You will not be doing this in isolation. The three of you meet weekly with the team leads and our architect, and you will have a direct line to the developers whose week your backlog shapes.
We lead with direction and mandate rather than detailed instruction. You will get the expectations and the boundaries agreed up front, and from there you decide how the work gets done. That only works if the roles around you are clear — which is why we have written down and agreed what the Manager, Product Owner, Scrum Master, Solution Architect and Team Lead each own, so you know where your decisions start and where they hand over.
You will report to Daniel Otkjær, Senior Manager, Software Development, and become part of the leadership group in IT Software.
This is a senior position. Because the standard you set reaches every story in three teams, we are looking for someone who has done product ownership before and knows what a well‑written backlog is worth on a busy week. We put weight on the following:
A formal certification such as CSPO or SAFe Product Owner is a plus, but not a requirement — what matters most is what you have actually run.
Please note that this role requires a clean criminal record. A security clearance may become relevant later in the employment, but it is not required in order to apply.
Renewable energy is our future. And so are our people!
At Eurowind Energy we do our best to create a culture where everyone is valued and feels at home. You will notice this in your everyday work life, where you have the freedom to speak up and where your voice means something to us. We know that when you grow, we grow. Therefore, we strive to support you in what you believe is right and in your personal and professional development. We offer you an exciting job in an energetic and international environment. And we promise you: the wind is never standing still.
Developing, operating and managing wind and solar parks is not just pure business for us. It is a way to view the world. And with this worldview comes a genuine ambition to be one of the leading developers in Europe. Because creating a future run entirely on green energy matters to us.
We manage our own portfolio of projects and at the same time, we perform technical and financial management of projects. We have throughout many years experienced sustained economic growth in the number of developed projects and companies in management. And we continue to expect this. Simply because it is in our nature to keep developing – projects, companies and our people.
