Job summary

OMHU is a fast-growing design brand seeking an experienced Product Developer to lead technical development of our furniture from concept to mass production. You will work with the Design team to ensure designs are manufacturable and create full technical documentation for suppliers and production partners.

The role requires hands-on experience taking products from sketch to production, strong knowledge of upholstery and materials, and the ability to travel internationally to manage suppliers

Qualifications

• 4–7+ years in furniture or consumer goods (sofa/lounge seating preferred).
• Experience with, or a network of, manufacturers in Europe, Eastern Europe and/or Asia.
• Hands-on experience taking products from sketch to mass production.
• Knowledge of upholstery, foam, fabric, and wood, metal, plastic and glass structures.
• Able to balance quality, cost and speed, and confidently challenge designs that won't work in production.
• Comfortable working internationally and traveling frequently.
• Uses data and AI tools to work smarter.

Responsibilities

• Create product briefs, technical drawings, datasheets, tech packs, specs, BOMs and QC manuals.
• Be the main contact for suppliers and onboard manufacturing partners with Supply Chain & Procurement.
• Lead sampling and prototyping cycles and report on development samples.
• Ensure quality in durability, finishes and compliance; solve production issues.
• Support launch readiness, including packaging, assembly and logistics.

What you'll do

• Lead technical development from concept through prototype to final production
• Work with our Design team to interpret and challenge designs for manufacturability
• Create product briefs, technical drawings, datasheets, tech packs, specifications, BOMs and QC manuals
• Be the main contact for suppliers, and source, qualify and onboard manufacturing partners together with Supply Chain & Procurement
• Lead sampling and prototyping cycles and report on development samples
• Ensure quality in durability, comfort, finishes and compliance, and solve production issues
• Support launch readiness, including packaging, assembly and logistics
