Overview

As a Preservation Architect you will play a critical role in preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures in the beautiful city of Faroe-Islands. Your main responsibility will be to provide architectural expertise and guidance on the conservation, restoration, and adaptive reuse of these structures while adhering to local regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough site visits and assessments of historical buildings to identify areas in need of preservation or restoration.
• Work with project teams to develop plans for preservation, restoration, or adaptive reuse projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, contractors and other professionals to ensure the structural integrity of historical buildings.
• Conduct research on historical materials and techniques used in construction to inform preservation efforts.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications and cost estimates for preservation projects.
• Monitor progress of preservation projects and provide guidance as needed.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards throughout the project process.
• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders and team members regarding project updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience working as an architect with a focus on preservation projects.
• Knowledge of local building codes, historic preservation guidelines and conservation techniques.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or other design software.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
