Job summary

VertexGlobal is seeking a Preservation Architect in Copenhagen to preserve historic buildings and landmarks. You will assess structures, develop preservation plans, and coordinate with clients, engineers, and construction teams to safeguard architectural heritage.

You will research traditional techniques and materials, manage restoration projects from start to finish, monitor budgets and timelines, and communicate progress with stakeholders while staying current with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or related field.
• Minimum 3 years' experience on historic preservation projects.
• Knowledge of architectural history and construction techniques.
• Familiarity with local historic preservation regulations.
• Excellent project management and communication skills.

Preservation Architects are responsible for preserving and restoring historic buildings structures and landmarks They use their knowledge of architecture design and historical preservation to ensure that these structures are carefully maintained and protected for future generations As a Preservation Architect you will work closely with clients engineers and construction teams to develop preservation plans and oversee restoration projects

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of historic buildings and structures to identify potential repair or restoration needs
• Develop preservation plans that adhere to local regulations and guidelines while also meeting the specific needs of the client
• Collaborate with engineers and construction teams to ensure that preservation plans are properly implemented
• Oversee restoration projects from start to finish including budget management and timeline adherence
• Conduct research on historical building techniques and materials to inform preservation decisions
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns or questions
• Collaborate with other architects historians and preservation experts to share knowledge and best practices in the field
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends advancements in technology and changes in regulations related to historic preservation

Requirements

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience working on historic preservation projects
• Knowledge of architectural history building materials construction techniques and design principles
• Familiarity with local regulations pertaining to historic preservation
• Excellent project management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills

Location Copenhagen with accommodation provided if needed

Salary $1200 per month negotiable based on experience
