University of Southern Denmark in Sønderborg invites applications for a PhD fellowship in Materials Chemistry within the Mads Clausen Institute. The successful candidate will conduct research on mixed-anion compounds and solar water splitting, under a 3-year contract, with English as working language and collaboration with SDU NanoSYD.

The role includes supervision of students, grant writing, and participation in teaching activities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Materials Science, Materials Chemistry, Solid State Chemistry, Solid State Physics or related field.
  • Hands-on experience with solid-state synthesis methods, preferably for mixed-anion compounds.
  • Technical skills in materials characterization techniques (e.g., XRD, XPS, SEM).
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

  • Carry out research tasks related to the Novo Nordisk Foundation funded project.
  • Plan and execute synthesis, characterization, crystal structure analysis and performance evaluation of materials for solar water splitting.
  • Analyze data, interpret results, and present findings at group meetings and publications.
