Job summary

Black Swans Exist ApS in Copenhagen, Denmark, is seeking a Research Associate to join our Platform Chemistry team. This laboratory‑based role focuses on automated peptide synthesis, generation of peptide libraries and application of modern purification and analytical techniques to support early drug‑discovery programmes.

You will work alongside experienced chemists, operate synthesisers, LC‑MS and purification equipment, and contribute to method development, data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemistry or related field.
• Strong practical laboratory experience and hands-on skills.
• Experience with common synthesis, purification or analytical techniques is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Execute automated workflows for synthesis of linear and macrocyclic peptide libraries.
• Operate peptide synthesisers, liquid-handling systems, purification equipment and LC‑MS instruments.
• Prepare reagents, samples and laboratory materials for workflows.
• Monitor performance and identify deviations or issues.
• Optimize and troubleshoot automated laboratory methods and instrumentation.
• Purify and analyze compounds using chromatographic and analytical techniques.
• Document methods and results clearly and consistently.
• Communicate findings to colleagues across teams.
• Support delivery of high‑quality compounds for programmes.
