Job summary

NNIT is seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer to operate an on-prem Kubernetes platform for a customer, collaborating with the customer’s developers and the infrastructure provider to ensure reliability and scalable performance.

You will design, deploy, and maintain Kubernetes environments, lead changes, and drive automation with GitOps. The role emphasizes reliability, monitoring, and incident response to minimize on-call work.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with on-prem Kubernetes, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience with managing on-prem Kubernetes clusters for production environments.
• Proven experience with Linux system administration and networking concepts.
• Experience with on-prem infrastructure management.
• GitOps approach to all changes (configuration as code, version managed and automated deployments)
• Proficiency in declarative approaches and automation using tools like Jsonnet, ArgoCD, Ansible, Terraform and python scripting.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, agile environment and communicate effectively with the customer

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze system performance metrics; identify and address performance bottlenecks.
• Incident response and on-call to resolve critical incidents.
• Continuously improve monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes.
• Design, deploy, and manage changes to the on-prem Kubernetes clusters.
• Collaborate with development teams to onboard applications onto Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize how applications perform on Kubernetes.
• Develop automation tools and workflows for Kubernetes configuration, deployment, and monitoring.
• Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in cloud-native and container orchestration.
