Aarhus University’s Department of Biomedicine invites applications for a Research Assistant to study chromatin perturbation in neurons. The position is fixed-term for six months and starts 1 October 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, based at the Department of Biomedicine in Aarhus, Denmark.

You will work at the interface of molecular biology, epigenetics and neuroscience, applying diverse techniques and collaborating with researchers from around the world.

Qualifications

  • Background in molecular biology, epigenetics, neuroscience, genomics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience with developing a single-cell omics platform is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Culture and maintain human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) and hiPSC-derived neuronal cells, including neuronal differentiation and characterization.
  • Perform a broad range of molecular and cellular biology techniques, including immunocytochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qRT-PCR, and Western blotting, as appropriate.
  • Generate and validate lentiviral vectors for genetic manipulation and functional studies in hiPSCs and hiPSC-derived neuronal cells.
  • Generate high-quality samples and sequencing libraries for chromatin-related genomic and epigenomic assays, including single-cell multi-omics and other next-generation sequencing applications.
  • Perform quality control and contribute to the analysis, interpretation, and documentation of experimental and multi-omics data.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive experimental records, organize and manage research data.
