Job summary

• Four-year accredited engineering degree and 8+ years of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
• 5 years' project management experience delivering medium-to-large mechanical installation projects.
• Strong communication abilities with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of applicable local, state/regional statutes and guidelines.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-conscious manner.

Responsibilities

• Manage design review, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems and enclosures.

• Coordinate daily site activities, resolve issues, deploy labour and plant efficiently, maintain productivity.
• Develop and maintain the site programme aligned with project plan and milestones; monitor critical path and allocate resources.
• Control costs for the scope including subcontractors, materials, and equipment; produce weekly cost reports.
• Coordinate safety with the EHS lead to maintain a strong QA/QHSE culture and close the safety file.
• Set up and close QA documentation with QA lead; enforce quality standards across teams.

Job Function Project Manager

We are working with a European engineering company who are looking for a Mechanical Project Manager on a permanent basis to support with on a large data centre project in the Copenhagen area.

About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned Project Manager with extensive hands-on experience in leading mechanical packages within data centres or related industries.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage design review, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems and enclosures for assigned projects.
• Oversee interfaces between mechanical and electrical scopes; review designs with engineering and client teams to ensure constructability and alignment with site works.
• Coordinate daily site activities, resolve site issues, deploy labour and plant efficiently, and maintain site productivity.
• Develop and maintain the site programme in line with the project plan, engineering milestones and client requirements; monitor the critical path and reallocate resources to meet targets.
• Control all costs for your scope including the mechanical team, internal electrical team where applicable, subcontractors, materials, plant and equipment, variations and valuations; issue weekly cost reports.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, Operations Manager and EHS lead to create, maintain and close the project safety file; ensure statutory compliance and drive a strong QHSE culture.
• Set up, maintain and close site QA documentation in collaboration with QA lead; enforce quality standards across teams and subcontractors.
• Manage subcontractor activities, track progress and manpower, chair and minute weekly coordination meetings, and ensure subcontractor documentation (including safety) is current and filed.

Required Qualifications

• Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and eight (8) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twelve (12) years
• 5 years' project management experience delivering medium-to-large mechanical installation projects
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
