Job summary

JBT Marel in Aarhus is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to design and configure customer-specific mechanical solutions for production lines worldwide.

You will review 2D drawings, peer-review 3D work, collaborate across disciplines, and ensure designs move from concept to installation with Marel’s global teams.

Applicants should have a technical mechanical background, experience with 3D CAD, PLM is a plus, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Technical background in mechanical engineering or production technology.
• Experience with 3D CAD design, preferably SolidWorks.
• Experience with PLM is an advantage.

JBT Marel is looking for a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join an engaged and collaborative team, designing and configuring customized, and technical production lines for customers around the world. Based in Aarhus, this role offers a unique opportunity to work with advanced machine solutions in an international environment where knowledge sharing, teamwork, and technical excellence are central to everything we do.

What you’ll be doing

• Design and configure customer-specific mechanical solutions for both large and small production lines, ranging from single machines to complete systems.
• Review outsourced 2D drawings to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
• Additionally, peer-review your colleagues 3D work to ensure the integrity of our solutions.
• Define and agree on technical solutions within projects in close collaboration with specialists across different disciplines.
• Coordinate project tasks together with the Technical Planner and Department Manager.
• Coordinate and follow up on projects with other internal departments to ensure smooth execution.
• Use and update existing designs in close collaboration with JBT Marel’s global development teams in Denmark, Iceland, the Netherlands, and the USA.
• Follow your designs through the assembly in close collaboration with our various manufacturing sites, before systems are installed at customer sites worldwide.

You have a natural interest in technology and machinery, allowing you to quickly understand complex mechanical solutions and continuously develop your technical knowledge.

Experience & Qualifications

You’ll bring A technical background, ideally as a Production Technologist, Mechanical Engineer, or equivalent experience.

Experience with 3D mechanical design from a similar role or practical experience with construction of machines is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Solid working knowledge of SolidWorks or another 3D CAD system.

Strong written and spoken English at a professional / negotiation level.

Experience with PLM systems is an advantage.

A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.

Relevant technical education within mechanical engineering or production technology.

Experience working with mechanical design, machine solutions, or industrial equipment.

Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, international organization.
