Job summary

RiskPoint Group is seeking an experienced BI Developer in Copenhagen to enhance data and BI capabilities. You will build robust data pipelines, develop reports and dashboards, and collaborate with IT, Finance & Operations to enable data-driven decisions.

This role is office-based and integrated within RiskPoint’s growing IT team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in BI development, strong SQL (PostgreSQL/MS SQL/Snowflake), and experience with cloud platforms and BI tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of professional BI development experience.
  • Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL, MS SQL or Snowflake.
  • Experience deploying data solutions on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python/Go/Java).
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards with BI tools (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Hands-on ETL design and implementation experience.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, warehousing and DB design.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders across an international org.

On behalf of RiskPoint Group, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join the organisation in a newly created position based in Copenhagen.

As a BI Developer, you will play an important role in strengthening RiskPoint´s data and BI capabilities. The position offers the oppertunity to work with modern data platforms, develop robust data pipelines, and create insightful reports and dashboards that support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.

About the team:

As a BI Developer, you will join RiskPoint’s Business Intelligence team, which currently consists of three members based across Europe.

The BI team is a specialised part of RiskPoint’s growing global IT organisation and works closely with the Finance & Operations function. The wider IT organisation brings together talented IT professionals across Denmark and the UK, combining strong technical capabilities with extensive experience from the insurance industry.

The global IT function consists of 23 specialists across 17 countries, creating an international and collaborative working environment with regular interaction across borders and functions.

What will you do:

As a BI Developer, you will play a key role in supporting data-driven decision-making across RiskPoint. The role is suited to a structured and detail-oriented professional with a proactive approach to problem-solving and strong communication skills.

You will collaborate with colleagues across the organisation and work closely with key stakeholders, including analysts, to understand business and data requirements. You will then translate these requirements into effective data solutions, reports and dashboards that provide meaningful and actionable insights.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with analysts and internal stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver optimized reports
  • Designing, developing and maintaining scalable data platforms to support varius business needs
  • Implementing data integration solutions using ETL tools
  • Ensuring data quality and integrity across all data platforms
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting data issues to maintain reliability
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends to continuously improve the data architecture and BI capabilities

This is a newly created position established to support RiskPoint’s growth strategy and increase the value generated through data and business intelligence.

The position is based in Copenhagen and is office-based.

About you:

RiskPoint is looking for a BI Developer with a strong technical background and a proven track record of developing solutions that create value for the business.

The ideal candidate is self-driven, structured and curious about new technologies, with the confidence to work independently and drive development and change. The ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at different levels of an international organisation is equally important, as is the ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear and accessible way.

An interest in coaching, mentoring and supporting the development of colleagues would be considered an advantage.

To be succesful in this role, you should have:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in BI development
  • An excellent understanding of SQL with professional experience on top data platforms such as PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL or Snowflake
  • Experience deploying and managing data solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Go or Java
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards using BI tools like Power BI, Terraform, or Tableau
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing ETL processes
  • A strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing and database design
  • A proven track record of woriking effectively in a team, communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and solving complex data problems
Experience with the following is preferred but not required:
  • Large-scale data processing technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark or Iceberg
  • Modern data tools such as Trino and dbt (data build tool)
  • Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
  • DevOps methodologies and tools, including CI/CD pipelines and version control
Additional Requirements:

Candidates must currently reside in Denmark and have the necessary work and residency permits in place before applying.

Spoken and written fluency in English is essential for this role, ideally together with a basic understanding of Danish. Other languages are an advantage.
