Job summary

Hilti Group is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel for a regional role covering offshore energy projects. Based in Kleppe, Norway, with Haderslev, Denmark as an alternative location, you will partner with regional stakeholders and collaborate with global legal, compliance and functional teams.

The role involves reviewing and negotiating complex contracts, advising on deal structures, and supporting pre-contract activities such as NDAs and RFPs/RFQs, while ensuring governance and compliance

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer or legal counsel with 5–8 years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience in commercial contracting and project negotiations.
• Experience with EPCs or large-scale projects is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and compliance support across the Region on contracts and transactions.
• Review, draft, and support negotiations of complex commercial and project contracts in offshore energy.
• Advise on deal structures and support pre-contract activities including NDAs and RFPs/RFQs.
• Support project execution phases, including claims management and dispute resolution.
• Collaborate with global legal, compliance, and procurement teams across Hilti Group.
• Serve as regional interface to subject matter experts in IP, trade compliance, risk and tax.
• Contribute to compliance training and monitoring in partnership with Head of Legal & Compliance.
• Be part of the Regional Legal & Compliance team across regions.

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel for a regional role in the global energy sector

Join Øglænd System and the Hilti Group as Legal Counsel in a maternity leave cover position. You will work on complex offshore energy projects, support major commercial negotiations, and collaborate with colleagues across an international business. For the right candidate, this is an opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility from day one while building valuable experience within a global industry leader.

Based in Kleppe, Norway (alternative location at our office in Haderslev, Denmark can also be considered), you will work closely with regional stakeholders while interfacing extensively with global legal, compliance, and functional teams across the Hilti Group.

What You’ll Do

• Provide legal and compliance support across the Region, covering project sales, large contracts, and transactional matters.
• Review, draft, mark-up, and support negotiations of complex commercial and project contracts, particularly within offshore energy projects.
• Advise on deal structures and support pre-contract activities, including NDAs, RFPs/RFQs, and bid processes.
• Support project execution phases, including claims management, contractual correspondence, dispute resolution, and interaction with external counsel where required.
• Support the rollout, localization, and implementation of global contracting concepts and compliance initiatives in line with Hilti Group policies.
• Act as the regional interface to global legal subject matter experts, including IP, trade compliance, risk and insurance, tax, and procurement.
• Contribute to compliance training, monitoring, investigations, and reporting in close cooperation with the Head of Legal & Compliance.
• Be an integral part of the Regional Legal & Compliance team and collaborate closely across regions and functions.

What You’ll Bring

Qualifications & Experience

• Qualified lawyer or legal counsel with approximately 5-8 years of relevant experience from a law firm and/or an international business environment.
• Strong experience in commercial contracting, project negotiations, and business partnering is essential. Admission to practice law is considered an advantage but is not a requirement.
• Strong experience in project contracting, including direct customer-facing negotiations within offshore energy (oil & gas or offshore wind).
• Experience with EPCs or large-scale project environments is highly advantageous.
• Broad legal skill set covering commercial contracts, compliance, product liability, corporate matters, and related transactional topics.
• Bachelor’s degree in law from a reputable university; Master’s degree in Law is an advantage.

Languages & IT Skills

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Norwegian, Danish, or Dutch is an advantage.
