Job summary

Caljan is seeking a Lead Mechanical R&D Engineer to guide the RAP portfolio's mechanical design from concept to release. You will balance technical leadership, product ownership and hands-on engineering in an international setting.

Based in Denmark, the role involves collaborating with global R&D teams, optimizing costs, performing simulations and tests, and mentoring engineers while shaping future product direction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–6 years of mechanical engineering and R&D experience with leadership.
• Experience in international environments.
• Proficient with Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or similar CAD.
• Experience with documentation, development and calculations.
• Experience with cost analysis and optimization.
• Ability to lead and mentor others.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design activities from concept to release.
• Design mechanical systems, conveyors and layouts.
• Run simulations, testing and R&D to validate concepts.
• Develop prototypes and evaluate emerging technologies with global teams.
• Participate in risk assessments, FMEA and compliance activities.
• Support installation and troubleshooting when required.
• Create CAD models and drawings using Autodesk Inventor.
• Develop production documentation, BOMs and engineering specs.
• Collaborate with suppliers on technical matters.
