Job summary

Twoday is seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our AI team. You will turn business problems into production-grade models and lead a cross-disciplinary group of data engineers, AI/ML engineers, cloud architects, and software developers on large Nordics projects.

You will set analytical direction on the most demanding engagements, mentor colleagues, and ensure governance, reproducibility, and stakeholder communication. Fluent Danish is a must for this role.

Qualifications

• Several years of hands-on data science experience including models taken past prototype to production.
• Ability to translate business objectives into formal AI/ML problems and define success.
• Strong predictive modelling craft across classification, regression, time series, and generative AI.
• Judgement on algorithmic choice and when simpler models suffice or complex methods are needed.
• Solid applied statistics with honest validation and uncertainty explanations.
• Strong software fundamentals to write maintainable code.
• Experience on Azure ML, Databricks or Microsoft Fabric (AWS/GCP transfers accepted).
• Experience applying generative AI, including RAG architectures and prompt evaluation.
• Understanding governance: reproducibility, model documentation, GDPR, bias/fairness, EU AI Act requirements.
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs to business stakeholders without oversimplification.
• Leadership through analytical direction, mentoring, and raising team standards.
• Fluent spoken and written Danish is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the analytical design of AI/ML solutions from problem framing to production-ready models.
• Run framing sessions with customers to define the prediction task, target, and success criteria.
• Own the algorithmic approach, baselines, method choices, and validation strategy.
• Set analytical standards for reproducibility, experiment tracking, and documentation.
• Work directly with customers to shape approach and translate outcomes into data-supported decisions.
• Mentor data scientists and grow the data science capability across Danish teams.
• Participate in scoping and pre-sales for AI initiatives based on feasibility and data readiness.
• Keep current with new methods and tooling for customer delivery.
• Engage as a local ambassador and expert in global AI/ML offerings.
