Job summary

JYSK seeks Head of Range and Design to define the overall product universe across sleep, furniture, textiles and home décor. You will own the design DNA, translate brand and insights into collections, and shape a scalable, affordable Scandinavian look for markets across countries.

Based at JYSK Head Office in Aarhus, Denmark, you will lead a three-person design team, collaborate with suppliers and marketing, and travel 30–40 days a year to stay close to trends and drive commercial success.

Do you want to have an influence on home furnishing trends across multiple countries? AsHead of Range and Design at JYSK, you will define how our products look, feel and work together – from sleep and furniture to textiles and home décor.

You will own the vision and direction for JYSK’s overall product universe, establishing the design DNA that connects our products across categories. By translating our brand, trends, customer insights and commercial ambitions into a clear design direction and compelling collections, you will make it easier for customers to create an affordable Scandinavian home.

WHAT YOUR NEXT JOB WILL BE ABOUT

As Head of Range and Design, you will own and develop JYSK’s overall design direction and collection architecture across product categories. You will ensure that our Scandinavian design DNA is reflected consistently in our collections, with colours, materials, shapes, functionality, quality and packaging working together to create a recognisable customer experience. Balancing creative ambition with customer insights and commercial priorities, you will turn the design vision into compelling, commercially successful products.

Your tasks and responsibilities in the job include:

• Developing collection architecture and design briefs in close collaboration with Category Management and suppliers
• Using customer insights, sales data and profitability to guide design decisions and strengthen range performance
• Presenting design concepts and recommendations to stakeholders, aligning creative ideas with commercial priorities
• Collaborating with Marketing, E-Commerce, Visual Merchandising and Sales & Expansion on photography, social media, campaigns and the overall customer experience

Besides the above, you will lead and develop the three-person Design team, setting clear priorities, providing constructive feedback and fostering a culture of creative excellence, collaboration and commercial awareness. You will participate in range meetings, trade fairs and supplier visits in Denmark and abroad, travelling approximately 30–40 days per year to stay up to date with emerging trends and bring new inspiration into JYSK.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING

We are looking for a colleague who combines a strong design vision with commercial understanding and the ability to translate creative ideas into successful products across a broad product range.

Ideally, you bring:

• Solid experience in design, product development, range management or category management within an international retail, brand or lifestyle business, with a strong track record of developing product concepts or collections
• The ability to define a clear design direction and translate it into practical design briefs and priorities
• A strong understanding of Scandinavian design, including colours, materials, functionality and visual consistency
• A data-driven approach to decision‑making, using customer insights, sales data and profitability to guide design choices
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build relationships and create alignment across functions
• Experience in leading and developing colleagues, setting clear priorities and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous development
• Fluency in English and confidence in presenting design concepts and recommendations to different stakeholders
