Aarhus University invites applications for a full-time Associate Professor (Group Leader) in live-cell in vitro modelling of Parkinson’s disease at the PACE Lundbeck Foundation Parkinson’s Disease Research Center. The position is a 5-year fixed-term with possible extension and located in Aarhus, Denmark.

The successful candidate will build a collaborative program on live-cell functional studies of α-synuclein aggregation in cell models, interact with clinical teams, and pursue external funding.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead an independent research program with external funding.
  • Proficiency in in vitro neuroscience using human iPSC-derived neurons and glia or rodent models.
  • Experience with advanced imaging and omics data-driven approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead a high-impact research group in live-cell modelling of synucleinopathies.
  • Conduct internationally competitive research and publish in top journals.
  • Teach and supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s students and develop new teaching activities.
  • Secure external funding and strengthen collaborations with clinical teams.
