DTU Bioengineering invites applications for a 2 year 3 month Postdoctoral fellow position in neuroscience under the ERC Synergy project CUSTOM-MADE NEURONS FOR CELL THERAPY IN PARKINSON’S AND HUNTINGTON DISEASE. The project focuses on developing defined neuronal products for cell therapy and personalized disease models.

You will establish brain organoid and connectoid platforms, engineer neuronal populations, and contribute to live-cell imaging, neurotransmitter sensors, and consortium

Qualifications

  • PhD in neuroscience or closely related field with substantial post-PhD research.
  • Experience in collaborative research environments and willingness to visit consortium labs.
  • Experience with brain organoids and neuronal differentiation, viral vectors, and neurotransmitter biosensors.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and develop human brain organoid and connectoid platforms.
  • Generate and characterize defined neuronal and glial populations.
  • Design and construct molecular tools and viral vectors for neuronal programming and imaging.
  • Develop live axonal tracking and projection mapping strategies.
  • Implement neurotransmitter biosensors for real-time detection of neural activity.
  • Take scientific responsibility for planning, troubleshooting, data analysis and coordination within DTU work packages.
  • Publish results in high-impact journals and present at conferences.
