Job summary

Danish Refugee Council is seeking a Grants Management Specialist for maternity cover in Copenhagen. You will ensure compliant, timely proposals, reports and grant documentation across HQ and country offices, with oversight of instalments, amendments and data quality.

The role requires strong donor regulation interpretation, field experience, and fluency in English and French, plus willingness to travel. Temporary contract from Jan–Oct 2027 with national terms.”

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of grants management experience with humanitarian donors.
• At least one year of field experience in humanitarian/development work.
• Experience drafting donor proposals and reports (ECHO, FCDO, UNHCR, etc.).
• Ability to interpret donor regs and translate into guidance for teams.
• Experience with grants systems and data analysis tools (Dynamics, Power BI).
• University degree in a relevant field.
• Fluency in English and French, in writing and speech.
• Experience across multiple country operations or HQ/regional grants.
• Experience training or mentoring staff.
• Willingness to travel and deploy to offices, including hardship locations.
• Working knowledge of Danish, French, Spanish or Arabic.

Responsibilities

• QA of proposals and reports for HQ-submitted grants for compliance.
• Maintain grant lifecycle oversight with COs and HQ, ensure timely submissions.
• Manage instalments and liaise with HQ Finance on overdue items.
• Build relationships with institutional donors and focal points.
• Support amendments, extensions, and close-out with proper documentation.
• Provide technical grants-management guidance to COs and hubs.
• Monitor data quality and risks in Dynamics and BI tools.
• Support audit readiness and global knowledge sharing.
