Job summary

Danish Refugee Council in Copenhagen seeks an Executive Director for People & Organisation to shape global people strategy, culture and governance. You will lead a senior team, align policies with operational needs and foster an inclusive, high-performing environment across headquarters and field operations.

The role requires 10+ years of global leadership, a Master’s degree, fluent English, and experience in organisational development, operating models, safeguarding and compliance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of senior experience in global organisations and people leadership.
• Experience shaping people strategy and leading transformation across complex, international operations.
• Experience of organisational development, including the renewal and design of operating models.
• Broad understanding of governance, compliance, safeguarding, safety and legal matters.
• Strong stakeholder management, analytical and communication skills.
• An inclusive, decisive and high-integrity leadership style.
• An international master’s degree and fluent English; additional language skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set the global P&O strategy and enable DRC’s ambitions.
• Lead and develop the P&O senior team across functions (HR Denmark, Operations, Analytics, Safety, Legal, etc.).
• Oversee safeguarding, Code of Conduct, safety, legal compliance and duty of care.
• Build trusted relationships with colleagues and partners across HQ and field locations.
• Drive an inclusive, high-performing culture aligned with strategic goals.
