Job summary

UL Solutions in Denmark is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our electrical testing laboratory in Ballerup. You will oversee daily operations, drive quality and compliance, and shape the development of new testing capabilities.

You will develop and coach a skilled team, manage budgets, engage with international customers, and ensure ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation is met while delivering exceptional service to clients.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Proven leadership as Laboratory Manager or similar people-management role.
• Experience in ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory environments.
• Project management experience with new services or development projects.
• Experience in manufacturing, production, R&D, testing, certification, or quality-driven technical environments.
• Budget, resources, and operational performance management.
• Strong understanding of quality management systems and audit processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing skills.
• Strong English communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily laboratory activities, workload planning, and resource allocation.
• Manage budgets and ensure efficient use of personnel, facilities, and equipment.
• Drive the implementation of new testing services and capabilities to meet evolving customer and market requirements.
• Manage key customer relationships and support the successful execution of strategic projects.
• Ensure ISO/IEC 17025 compliance and other accreditation requirements.
• Maintain and continuously improve laboratory quality systems, procedures, and documentation.
• Participate in internal and external audits and lead corrective and preventive actions when required.
• Develop, coach, and motivate laboratory personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Establish training, competency, and proficiency programs for laboratory staff.
• Support the development and maintenance of state-of-the art laboratory equipment and testing methods.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma principles to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
