Job summary

Aalborg Energie Technik A/S is seeking an experienced Finance Team Lead to head the local Finance Department in Aalborg. You will own accounting, month-end closings, controlling, banking, and corporate funding, ensuring on-site financial execution.

As the senior finance professional on-site, you will drive processes, maintain Danish GAAP compliance, manage VAT and reporting, coordinate payroll accounting, budgeting, and forecasting, and liaise with auditors and tax advisors.

Qualifications

• Senior finance experience (Financial Controller/Finance Manager)
• Fluent in English and Danish
• Strong ERP and Excel skills
• Ability to mentor and develop a team

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, journal entries, and month-end close per Danish requirements
• Handle accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, payments, reconciliations
• Prepare VAT returns, Intrastat filings, and statutory reports
• Support payroll accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis
• Coordinate with auditors, banks, tax advisors, and statutory bodies
• Drive process improvements and internal controls, and collaborate with project teams on cost tracking
• Monitor project financials, provide status updates and profitability tracking to PMs and management

We're looking for an experienced Finance Team Lead to head our local Finance Department.

As the highest-ranking finance professional on-site, you'll take full ownership of local financial execution- accounting, month-end closings, and controlling, banking, corporate funding.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, journal entries, and month-end/year-end close in line with Danish statutory requirements and Group accounting policies
• Handle accounts payable/receivable, invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor/customer reconciliations
• Prepare VAT returns, Intrastat filings, and other statutory reports, and support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in alignment with Danish GAAP and Group reporting standards
• Assist with payroll accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis, and liaise with auditors, banks, tax advisors, and statutory bodies as needed
• Drive process improvements and internal controls, and collaborate with project execution, procurement, and sales teams on cost tracking
• Monitor project financials- tracking costs, budgets, and milestones against plan, and provide regular status updates, invoicing support, and profitability tracking to project managers and management

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience in a senior finance role (Financial Controller, Chief Accountant, or Finance Manager)
• Proven or emerging leadership skills, with a talent for mentoring and developing a team
• Solid grasp of accounting principles, financial controlling, and reporting standards
• Comfortable balancing local operational needs with Group Finance expectations
• Strong ERP, financial systems, and Excel skills
• Fluent in English and Danish
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and a strong sense of ownership
