Job description

Overview

Field Service Engineer based in Copenhagen. The role includes installation, repair, maintenance, replacement of wear and spare parts, and commissioning of equipment for FLSmidth’s mining and minerals industry customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform FLS equipment inspections, maintenance supervision, troubleshooting, and training at customer sites, and prepare technical reports with recommendations.
• Install and commission FLS equipment; assist customers with maintenance shutdown planning, spares/consumables demand definition, and related activities.
• Coordinate FLS service activities at customer sites, liaising with customers and internal stakeholders at multiple levels.
• Prepare quotations and cost estimates for services, as well as upgrade and rebuild solutions.
• Manage customer relationships and liaison to support the development of FLS Services business in the region.
• Support FLS spares, wears, upgrade and rebuild business in the region.

Qualifications and Experience

• Mechanical technical qualification and minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in mineral‑processing equipment maintenance and inspection.
• Proven experience with mills, crushers/screens, flotation cells, separators, thickeners (conventional and high‑rate), and disc/belt/press filters.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems including drive assemblies, hydraulic systems, lubrication systems, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, and slurry handling equipment.
• Ability to conduct detailed equipment inspections, identify wear patterns, mechanical defects, misalignment, vibration issues, and performance deviations.
• Knowledge of process plant operations.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GA drawings, and technical manuals.
• Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong report‑writing skills, including compiling inspection reports, deviation lists and technical recommendations.
• Willingness to work extended hours and travel outside of the country for extended periods.
• Valid driver’s license and medically fit for site work.
