Job summary

JA Solar is seeking a Technical Service Engineer BESS for Scandinavia/Northern Europe to support on-site installation, commissioning, and grid connection of Battery Energy Storage System projects. You will serve as the primary on-site technical representative, ensuring safe delivery, addressing issues, and coordinating with customers, EPCs, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
3–7 years of field service/commissioning experience in BESS or power systems.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, inverters, BESS, or related equipment.
Experience with electrical installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics.
Knowledge of grid connection requirements and safety standards.
Experience on utility-scale or commercial renewable energy projects is a plus.
English proficiency at C1 level.
Valid driver's license.
Safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

Provide on-site technical support during installation, commissioning, testing, and handover of BESS projects.
Supervise installation activities and verify compliance with technical specs, quality standards, and safety.
Perform system commissioning, functional testing, and grid connection activities.
Resolve on-site technical issues related to electrical installation and system integration.
Support project acceptance, punch-list resolution, and final technical handover to customers.
Respond to customer inquiries via remote or on-site support and ensure timely issue resolution.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, communication, and performance issues.
Coordinate with engineering and product teams to resolve issues efficiently.
Coordinate with Sales to ensure effective communication and customer satisfaction.
Deliver customer training on system operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
