Job summary

Arla Foods is seeking an Experienced Data Platform Engineer to shape and evolve our cloud-based Data Foundation platform. You will join an international team responsible for Azure Databricks, data pipelines and enterprise-scale data services.

You will contribute to the technical direction, mentor colleagues, and help deliver scalable, observable and resilient data capabilities across Arla’s analytics, reporting and AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience developing and maintaining enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Strong expertise with Azure Databricks, Azure services, Terraform, Python/PySpark and SQL.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, GitHub and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Understanding of architectural patterns, integration design and modern software engineering practices.
• Experience with CI/CD, test automation and DevOps methodologies.
• Knowledge of observability, performance optimization, resilience patterns and incident management.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with mentoring capability.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the technical implementation of complex features and reduce technical debt.
• Support other developers through code reviews, technical coaching and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Collaborate with Product Architects and product teams to shape technical direction and non-functional requirements.
• Design and implement robust services, APIs and data pipelines for scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Drive best practices within code quality, testing, automation and observability.
• Evolve CI/CD pipelines and strengthen platform reliability, performance and resilience.

In Data Foundation, we are responsible for delivering and evolving the core Azure Databricks data platform and infrastructure that enables analytics, reporting and AI solutions across Arla. As an Experienced Data Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the team, mentoring colleagues and ensuring we continue to deliver a modern, enterprise-grade platform that supports the needs of the business, says Senior Manager, Head of IT Product, Thomas Morthorst Overgaard.

You will contribute to the continuous evolution of our cloud-based data platform, ensuring scalability, reliability and performance across our data ecosystem.
