Job summary

Arla is seeking an Experienced Data Platform Engineer to help evolve the Data Foundation platform. You will join an international team responsible for cloud-based data services, focusing on scalability, reliability and performance across the data ecosystem.

Your work includes shaping technical direction and mentoring colleagues. The role emphasizes modern engineering practices, collaboration with product architects, and building robust data pipelines and APIs to support analytics and AI

Qualifications

• Several years of experience developing and maintaining enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Strong expertise in Azure Databricks, Azure services, Terraform, Python/PySpark and SQL.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, GitHub and IaC.
• Understanding of architectural patterns, integration design and modern software practices.
• Experience with CI/CD, test automation and DevOps methodologies.
• Good observability, resilience patterns and incident management.

In Data Foundation, we are responsible for delivering and evolving the core Azure Databricks data platform and infrastructure that enables analytics, reporting and AI solutions across Arla. As an Experienced Data Platform Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the team, mentoring colleagues and ensuring we continue to deliver a modern, enterprise-grade platform that supports the needs of the business, says Senior Manager, Head of IT Product, Thomas Morthorst Overgaard.

How you will make an impact

As an Experienced Data Platform Engineer, you will join an international team responsible for developing and maintaining Arla’s Data Foundation Platform. You will contribute to the continuous evolution of our cloud-based data platform, ensuring scalability, reliability and performance across our data ecosystem.Your key responsibilities include

• Contribute to the technical implementation of complex features and services while improving architecture and reducing technical debt.
• Support other developers through code reviews, technical coaching and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Collaborate closely with Product Architects and product teams to shape technical direction and non-functional requirements.
• Design and implement robust services, APIs and data pipelines, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Drive best practices within code quality, testing, automation and observability.
• Evolve CI/CD pipelines and strengthen platform reliability, performance and resilience.
