Job summary

Microchip Denmark seeks a software engineer to develop OS-agnostic C APIs for physical Ethernet interfaces, collaborating with hardware and cross-functional teams from chip bring-up to production.

You will bring up 10 Mbit to 25G SerDes, implement PCS/MAC software, drive PHY drivers for 1000BASE-T/-T1, contribute to switch drivers, write MISRA-compliant code, and support automated testing in ASPICE automotive contexts.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in C and embedded software development.
• Experience with physical Ethernet layers, PHYs, and interface standards.
• Willingness to work close to hardware and investigate problems using datasheets and test equipment.
• Experience in regulated environments with safety, quality, reliability requirements.
• Structured and analytical troubleshooting mindset.

Responsibilities

• Develop OS-agnostic C APIs for physical network interfaces.
• Bring up interfaces from 10 Mbit MII to 25G SerDes.
• Understand and implement PCS and MAC layer functionality from software driver perspective.
• Develop and maintain PHY drivers for Ethernet standards (1000BASE-T, 1000BASE-T1, 10BASE-T1S).
• Contribute to the switch driver and automated testing infrastructure.
• Write MISRA-compliant C code per ASPICE automotive standards.
