Zusammenfassung

Abacus Medicine Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Director, Search & Evaluation to lead the assessment of external opportunities across Europe. You will own commercial forecasts, lead due diligence, and coordinate cross-functional teams to support BD&L investment decisions.

You will shape strategic priorities, develop standardized evaluation frameworks, and interact with senior leaders, partners, and investors to drive growth and portfolio value.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine, Business, or related field.
• 10–15+ years of experience within pharmaceutical or biotech business development, licensing, search & evaluation, portfolio strategy, or commercial assessment.
• Significant experience evaluating pharmaceutical assets and business development opportunities.
• Strong expertise in commercial forecasting, new product planning, and opportunity assessment.
• Experience supporting or leading structured due diligence processes.
• Deep understanding of European pharmaceutical markets, commercialization pathways, pricing, reimbursement, and market access dynamics.
• Experience preparing investment recommendations for senior leadership teams or governance boards.
• Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities, including forecasting, scenario analysis, and rNPV methodologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Aufgaben

• Lead and manage the Search & Evaluation process across therapeutic areas with high-quality assessment.
• Build and maintain a structured pipeline of opportunities through outreach and partner engagement.
• Lead cross-functional evaluation of assets, coordinating scientific, clinical, commercial and financial input.
• Own commercial forecasts and LCM planning for each opportunity with country-level European projections.
• Define target product profiles and translate into peak sales, revenue ranges, and P&L inputs.
• Conduct integrated asset valuations (rNPV) and risk-adjusted assessments with Finance for deal terms.
• Develop standardized evaluation frameworks and a common forecasting methodology.
• Translate inputs into clear business recommendations and value propositions.
• Lead due diligence prep and collaborate with Transactions for progressing opportunities.
• Maintain market intelligence on therapeutic areas, deal trends, and competitor moves.
• Build relationships with biotech, pharma, investors, and innovation networks.
• Support Global Head of BD&L in defining search priorities and alignment with strategic goals.
• Represent Abacus externally at conferences and partner events.
