Job summary

Black Swans Exist ApS is seeking a Director/VP Licensing & IP to own the IP strategy behind our advanced non-invasive healthtech. You’ll take over from the CEO, shape a proactive patent program, and ensure critical innovations are captured and protected.

You’ll collaborate with optical system design, spectrometer technology and multivariate analysis teams to translate research into strong commercial IP value while exploring licensing opportunities when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with intellectual property rights (IPR) and patent strategy.
• Experience with licensing agreements or commercial IP models.
• Understanding of optical system design, spectrometry and photonics; familiarity with multivariate analysis.
• Medtech, healthtech or deep-tech experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the IP work across the business, ensuring an active and well-managed patent strategy.
• Collaborate with technical teams to identify IP opportunities in optical design, spectrometers and multivariate analysis.
• Track filings, plan next steps and identify where to strengthen the portfolio.
• Support future licensing opportunities by shaping licensing models, deal frameworks and partner discussions.
• Report progress to senior management and the board.
