Job summary

ALK-Abelló, A/S is seeking a Laboratory Automation & Digitalization Engineer to build the digital foundation for a modern laboratory and CMC environment. The role involves developing practical digital solutions, automating workflows, and connecting systems and data across LIMS, ELN, and databases.

You will work with IT and end-users to shape the early digital landscape, ensuring data integrity, traceability and compliance while supporting scalable infrastructure and future standards.

Qualifications

• Academic degree in a relevant scientific or technical field (Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry or similar).
• Solid hands-on experience programming data processing and automation workflows.
• Good understanding of SQL and relational databases, data structures and exchange formats (CSV, XML, JSON).
• Experience with visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, Dash, Streamlit, Plotly.

Responsibilities

• Develop digital solutions to support and improve workflows, data handling, reporting and decision-making with end-users.
• Automate manual processes such as calculations, data transfers, data mapping and recurring reporting tasks.
• Develop data-driven applications, dashboards, workflows and visualization tools providing practical value for users.
• Support connectivity between analytical equipment, LIMS, ELN, databases and data storage systems.
• Collaborate with IT to establish scalable, secure, and maintainable digital infrastructure.
• Contribute to standards for documentation, testing, version control, data flow design and long-term solution ownership.
• Ensure solutions focus on data integrity, traceability, compliance and maintainability.
