Job summary

UNOPS is seeking a Deputy Director (a.i.) for the Infrastructure and Project Management Group (IPMG) in Denmark. The role ensures day-to-day operational continuity during a six-month restructuring, guiding cross-team coordination and resolving bottlenecks while acting as the Director’s delegate on operational matters.

Required is a Bachelor’s (or 12 years) or Master’s with relevant leadership experience in project management, engineering, or related fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline with 12 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree (or equivalent) with 10 years of relevant experience is required.
• Desirable certifications include Change Management (e.g., PROSCI) or Project Management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily workflows across IPMG teams to meet targets during restructuring.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks; support agile resource allocation.
• Provide strong, empathetic leadership to guide the team through restructuring and manage morale.
• Advise the Director on operational risks and strategic recommendations.
• Foster cross-practice collaboration and ensure integration with HQ operations.
