Job summary

Sensori is seeking an on-site MEP Stores Keeper to ensure safe receipt, storage, issue and return of MEP materials on construction sites and in stores. You will maintain stock records, perform cycle counts and support procurement with accurate receipts and documentation.

The role requires forklift/telehandler operation, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with site trades and procurement to prioritise urgent material needs.

Qualifications

  • Fluent English both written and verbal.
  • Previous stores or site stores experience in construction, ideally with MEP materials.
  • Experience with inventory systems such as SAP, Procore, or similar.
  • Valid forklift and telehandler licences and experience operating material handling equipment.
  • CSCS card or equivalent site access certification as required by local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Receive deliveries of MEP materials and components; inspect for quantity, specification and damage; verify delivery documentation and record receipts in the inventory system (SAP or equivalent).
  • Maintain accurate stock records, perform regular cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and prepare inventory reports and material issue logs for site managers and procurement.
  • Store items securely and safely by type and project; label and segregate hazardous or sensitive materials; apply stock rotation methods to prevent deterioration.
  • Pick and issue materials to trades according to work orders and site schedules; record issues and returns; manage warranty returns, supplier credits and repair arrangements for faulty items.
  • Operate forklifts, telehandlers and other lifting equipment to move materials around site and to/from vehicles; ensure equipment is used safely and maintained.
  • Update and maintain tracking records for materials in transit between suppliers, site and offsite stores; proactively follow up on delayed or missing deliveries.
  • Inspect incoming and stored items for defects, correct specification and certification; ensure materials meet project quality and safety standards and maintain traceability documentation.
  • Enforce site safety rules, correct storage of hazardous materials, safe manual handling and PPE use; support waste segregation and recycling procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels, raise requisitions or notify procurement of shortages, assist with receiving supplier deliveries and coordinate with site supervisors to prioritise urgent material needs.
  • Assist with site setup, temporary storage solutions, stock movements during programme changes and other reasonable duties as required by the site management team.

Job description

The MEP Construction Store person is responsible for the safe, accurate receipt, storage, issue and return of mechanical, electrical and plumbing materials and components on construction sites and in offsite stores. This hands‑on role supports site trades, procurement and logistics by maintaining inventory control, ensuring material traceability, managing returns and damaged goods, and operating material handling equipment to keep MEP works running to programme.

Essential Criteria

  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and collaborate with site trades and procurement.
  • Good communication and customer care skills for liaising with suppliers, subcontractors and site teams.
  • Receipt verification and stock reconciliation experience.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience handling mechanical, electrical and plumbing components and fittings.
  • Familiarity with barcode scanning, handheld devices and mobile inventory apps.
  • Basic knowledge of MEP product codes, specifications and certification requirements.
  • Experience with returns management, warranty processes and supplier claims.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Construction site and temporary stores with exposure to noise, dust and moving plant.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying and moving of materials; ability to work at heights or in confined spaces when required by site conditions.
  • May include early starts, late finishes or weekend work to meet project schedules.
  • Must comply with site safety rules, PPE requirements and manual handling procedures.
