Job summary

Jones Engineering is seeking a Commercial Manager with an electrical background to join the delivery teams for a major Data Centre project in Copenhagen, Denmark. The role offers growth with support and guidance from senior staff in Ireland.

You will manage contracts, procurement, and subcontractor accounts, forecast cash flow, and mentor the on-site Commercial Team to ensure compliance and accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
• Minimum 8+ years' experience post-qualification.
• Electrical background and data centre exposure preferred.
• Ability to lead a multi-functional on-site commercial team.
• Strong contract management and procurement awareness.

Responsibilities

• Support construction teams with QS functions and contract obligations.
• Identify commercial risks and report promptly to management.
• Prepare monthly progress applications with accurate remeasurements.
• Coordinate procurement activities with the Procurement Department.
• Manage subcontractor accounts from award to final account.
• Forecast turnover and cash flow for projects.
• Ensure accurate reporting and trend analysis across projects.
• Mentor and coach the on-site Commercial Team.

This Data Centre Project is in a region where further growth is expected and is an opportunity for an ambitious Commercial Manager to grow their career with support and guidance from our senior staff in Ireland.

Commercial Manager - Copenhagen Due to continued expansion in our Data Centre division, Jones Engineering require a Commercial Manager preferably with an Electrical background to join the delivery teams for large Data Centre Project in Denmark. This Data Centre Project is in a region where further growth is expected and is an opportunity for an ambitious Commercial Manager to grow their career with support and guidance from our senior staff in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• To provide support to Construction Team on all Quantity Surveying functions including, but not limited to the following:
• Ensure compliance with contract obligations and provide advice and monitoring of same to construction team
• Ability to identify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting of same to management
• Compile monthly progress applications and ensure they are inclusive of accurate remeasure, site variations, day-works or claims
• Procurement - operational procurement activity and contract support, in conjunction with the Procurement Department
• Manage subcontractor accounts from initial award to interim valuation, variations and final account
• Managing and forecasting of turnover and cash flow of the projects
• Reviewing and commercial management of all projects, to ensure accurate and reliable reporting
• Identify, Analyse and report on trends within the Business & Projects
• Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies
• To ensure Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual Requirements and providing advice and monitoring of same
• Manage and mentor the wider Commercial Team on site.
• All other duties associated with this role

Key Skills/ Requirements

• Relevant third level qualification essential in Quantity Surveying/ Construction Economics
• Previous Data Centre experience preferable but not essential
• Minimum 8+ years' experience post qualification essential
• Experience in an Electrical role required
• Ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-functional team
• Excellent IT Skills
• Demonstrates excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills
