Job description

At NIRAS, we help clients shape resilient communities, sustainable infrastructure and climate adaptation solutions that make a lasting difference. To support our continued growth, we are looking for a collaborative and proactive Bid Coordinator to strengthen our work winning and bidding capabilities, to help us secure some of the most exciting projects across our markets.

You will be part of our mid-size and larger projects bidding teams where, in collaboration with members of the Marine Business Unit, you will be responsible for setting up the bidding process, ensuring compliance with tender material, and achieving timely delivery. For bids that you are involved in, you will collaborate with the bid manager and wider team involved in the proposal to contribute to the proposal quality, i.e. the text, templates and graphics, and where appropriate the proposal strategy towards the end client.

As a natural pre-requisite you will be expected to organise, update and enhance our proposal material such as project references, capability statements, CVs, and keep track of previous proposal outcomes. The latter also includes generating background knowledge on market developments within the different sectors together with the Heads of Departments and Market Directors. Your responsibilities will also extend to online monitoring of upcoming opportunities and developing or selecting appropriate tools for this.

Your role

You will have an important role in a strong team of project managers, project engineers and highly skilled specialists. You will be affiliated with NIRAS’ Marine Business Unit but will also be part of NIRAS’ wider bidding team, where you can exchange knowledge, share best practices and support each other on proposals and other business development-related initiatives.

In the Marine Business Unit we work with all processes within coastal, port, offshore, environmental, and ocean engineering as well as climate adaptation. We cover a wide range of tasks including dimensioning of large coastal and port structures such as quays, aprons, piers, breakwaters/revetments, dikes, groynes and beaches, but also offshore structures and estuary engineering with flow and sedimentation in fjords, harbours and bays.

Our Business Unit is international, with offices and teams based in Denmark, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and the Philippines. It is our ambition to be the leading consultants within coastal, marine and water-related infrastructure, from climate adaptation and water management to the design of structures in and around water.

About The Job

We pursue projects all over the world, with clients ranging from private investors, developers and international contractors to public entities and donor organisations. Your main focus will be on Danish projects, but you will be exposed to international opportunities as well.

Your primary tasks will include:

  • Coordinate and support end-to-end preparation of tenders, proposals, expressions of interest, prequalification submissions and framework applications.
  • Implement and follow NIRAS’ quality assurance and risk management procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with set tender requirements, deadlines, and quality standards.
  • Contribute to proposal development by coordinating input, improving presentation quality, and supporting clear client-focused messaging.
  • Maintain and continuously improve proposal resources, including project references, CVs, and bid libraries.
  • Monitor procurement portals and market opportunities and support business development activities.
  • Be part of the team that works on collecting and analysing market intelligence and sector trends to support strategic bidding decisions.
  • Facilitate collaboration between technical experts, project managers, department heads, and senior management throughout the bid process.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal bidding tools, systems, processes, and best practices in the Business Unit.
About You

We imagine that you:

  • Have experience coordinating bids, proposals, tenders, or similar business development activities.
  • Are highly organized and able to manage multiple deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in Danish and English. Other languages will be an added value.
  • Have an eye for detail and quality.
  • Are comfortable working with proposal text, graphics, presentations, and document production.
  • Take initiative and continuously look for ways to improve processes and tools.
  • Have strong analytical skills and an interest in market and competitor developments.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office and other digital collaboration tools.
  • Bring a positive, service-minded, and team-oriented mindset to your work.
We offer you

You will become a part of a well-functioning business unit in Allerød, where level of engagement and professionalism are highly valued. Moreover, we offer:

  • Work on some of the most exciting infrastructure, environmental, and sustainability tenders in the market - both in Denmark and internationally.
  • Be part of a highly professional international consultancy with strong growth ambitions.
  • Collaborate with leading technical experts, project managers, and business developers across NIRAS.
  • Enjoy excellent opportunities for professional and personal development.
  • Benefit from a flexible workplace culture built on trust, collaboration, and employee well-being.
