Job summary

GoWish in Østerbro, Copenhagen, Denmark, is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and own the services powering our personalized platform. You’ll work with TypeScript, NestJS, GraphQL, and collaborate with frontend, product, and data teams to deliver fast, scalable APIs.

If you have 5+ years as an engineer and at least 3 years owning backend systems, you’ll thrive here where ownership, curiosity, and bold ideas drive product decisions, architecture reviews, and robust deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as an Engineer with 3+ years owning backend systems.
• Strong experience with TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with NestJS.
• Solid experience working with GraphQL.
• Confident with Git and version control.
• Experience working with APIs.
• A good understanding of SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services using TypeScript and NestJS
• Build and evolve GraphQL APIs that internal teams and consumers
• Take ownership of services end-to-end, including architecture, deployments, monitoring, scaling — confirm scope
• Participate actively in architectural discussions, code reviews, and technical roadmap planning
