Job summary

VELUX A/S in Thyregod is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead automation initiatives across engineering projects and production development. You will work with colleagues in production, maintenance, and external suppliers to deliver reliable automation solutions.

The role emphasizes PLC programming, robotics, and validation activities, with travel within Europe as needed. Strong collaboration and translation of technical needs into practical production improvements are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree in engineering, automation, electronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent qualifications.
• Around 5–10 years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, or manufacturing technology.

Responsibilities

• Act as the automation specialist in engineering projects and production development activities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to automation technicians, maintenance teams, and project stakeholders.
• Verify and approve machinery and equipment according to applicable requirements and specifications.
• Support commissioning, qualification, and maturation of new technologies and production equipment.
• Develop, review, and optimize automation solutions, including PLC programming and robotic applications.
• Participate in FATs and SATs to ensure successful implementation.
• Contribute to initiatives involving industrial connectivity, cloud technologies, servers, and machine control concepts.
• Drive continuous improvements to productivity, quality, safety, and stability.
