VELUX Group in Thyregod is seeking an Automation Engineer to shape the future of manufacturing with automation, robotics and smart production technologies.

You will be part of the Project Engineering team in Thyregod, collaborating with engineering, production, maintenance and external suppliers to deliver reliable production solutions and mature production facilities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, automation, electronics or related technical discipline.
  • 5–10 years of experience in industrial automation, robotics, or manufacturing technology.
  • Solid PLC programming experience, preferably Siemens TIA Portal.
  • Robotics knowledge; KUKA/Fanuc experience is a plus.
  • Experience with commissioning, FAT/SAT and equipment qualification processes.
  • Interest in industrial connectivity, cloud tech, and machine control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Act as automation specialist in engineering projects and production development activities.
  • Provide technical guidance to automation technicians, maintenance teams, and project stakeholders.
  • Verify and approve machinery and equipment according to requirements and specs.
  • Support commissioning, qualification, and maturation of new technologies and equipment.
  • Develop, review, and optimize automation solutions including PLC programming and robotics.
  • Participate in FATs/SATs to ensure successful implementation and drive improvements across productivity, quality, safety and stability.
  • Contribute to initiatives involving industrial connectivity, manufacturing IT systems, cloud-based solutions, servers, and standardized machine control concepts where relevant.
  • Drive continuous improvements that enhance productivity, quality, safety, and operational stability.

With your technical expertise and passion for creating reliable production solutions, you could be our next Automation Engineer in Thyregod.** **Meet your future team**You will become part of the Project Engineering team in Thyregod, working closely with colleagues across engineering, production, maintenance, and external suppliers. The team is responsible for developing, implementing, and maturing production technologies that support efficient, stable, and safe manufacturing operations.As our automation specialist, you will play a central role in automation-related projects and production development initiatives. You enjoy working across disciplines and are motivated by transforming technical requirements into dependable production solutions. Moreover, we expect that you:* Hold a degree in engineering, automation, electronics, or another relevant technical discipline, or possess equivalent technical qualifications.* Have around 5-10 years of experience within industrial automation, robotics, or manufacturing technology.* Bring solid experience in programmable logic controller programming, preferably with Siemens TIA Portal.* Have experience with robotics; knowledge of KUKA and/or Fanuc is considered an advantage.* Have participated in commissioning activities, Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and equipment qualification processes.* Have experience with or interest in industrial connectivity, manufacturing information technology, cloud technologies, servers, and machine control standards.* Communicate effectively in both Danish and English.* Enjoy collaborating with diverse stakeholders and building strong working relationships across functions. The position includes limited domestic and international travel, typically up to 20 days annually.
