Job summary

Aalborg University invites applications for an Associate Professor in Functional Materials Chemistry within the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Chemistry and Bioscience. The position focuses on research in functional materials for energy and chemical-conversion technologies, with emphasis on disordered amorphous materials and related classes.

The appointee will develop an independent program, publish in international journals, attract external funding, and build collaborations

Qualifications

• PhD in chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, nanoscience or related field.
• Established international research profile with publications and external funding.
• Experience supervising early-career researchers and building networks.
• Teaching experience at university level and ability to teach chemical engineering, chemistry and materials science.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internationally competitive research in functional materials chemistry.
• Develop relationships among synthesis, structure, and properties; use advanced characterization.
• Provide research-based teaching and supervise theses at bachelor, master and PhD levels.
• Collaborate with national and international partners and potential industry.
