Job summary

Demant is seeking an Applied AI Scientist to translate business needs into scalable, production-ready AI solutions within Hearing Care. You will design GenAI use cases, build experiments, and collaborate with commercial, IT, and data teams to deliver impact.

In this role you will balance speed, cost and risk, implement guardrails, and move prototypes into scalable production with MLOps and governance in mind, all while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Development or a similar field.
• Experience designing and building GenAI applications, AI assistants, RAG-based solutions or related AI products.
• Ability to translate business problems into AI use cases, concepts and measurable outcomes.
• Experience with prompt engineering, retrieval strategies, chunking, embeddings and RAG optimization.
• Familiar with LangChain, LangGraph, Pydantic AI or similar frameworks for AI development.
• Knowledge of evaluating AI quality with datasets, human review and automated checks.
• Strong coding practices and familiarity with cloud AI platforms (e.g., Google Vertex AI, Azure AI).
• Basic MLOps concepts, CI/CD, monitoring, deployment of AI solutions.
• Clear explanations of AI concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Design and build applied AI solutions; translate business needs into AI use cases and experiments with clear success criteria.
• Collaborate with business users, SMEs and IT stakeholders to move from prototype to production.
• Establish evaluation approaches using golden datasets, automated checks and human review.
• Implement guardrails, controls for safe AI use and align with governance.
• Work with MLOps, Data Engineers and Architects to scale solutions across the organization.
