Job description

Your impact begins here

Help shape the automation solutions behind life-saving medicines and turn advanced technology into reliable production, high quality and real impact for patients worldwide.

As an Advanced Automation Professional in Global Manufacturing & Supply, you will help ensure that the automation systems supporting our manufacturing operations are reliable, compliant and ready for the future.

You will use your technical expertise to solve complex challenges, strengthen operational resilience and improve the systems that enable us to supply high-quality medicines to patients.

What you’ll bring

You are an experienced, curious and solution-oriented automation professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges in a production environment. You combine hands-on automation expertise with a structured approach and the ability to collaborate across technical and business functions.

You will also bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to challenge existing solutions, influence technical direction and build trusted relationships across functions.

We’re looking for:
  • A relevant degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • At least five years of experience with industrial automation, preferably within pharmaceutical, biotech, food, chemical or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC, SCADA, historian, process control, industrial communication and automation infrastructure technologies. Knowledge of iFIX and WinCC would be an advantage but is not essential.
  • Hands-on experience with platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, Emerson, ABB, Schneider Electric, AVEVA, Ignition or comparable technologies.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, automation projects, commissioning, testing, qualification and transitioning solutions into stable operation.
  • An understanding of system lifecycle management, change control, documentation, computerised equipment validation and risk-based decision-making in a regulated environment.
What you’ll do
  • Ensure stable, reliable and compliant automation systems supporting critical manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Design, implement and improve solutions across PLC, SCADA, historian, control system and industrial infrastructure environments.
  • Drive solutions to complex automation challenges together with Production, Engineering and external partners.
  • Support projects from early concept and design through testing, commissioning, qualification, handover and operational readiness.
  • Lead lifecycle activities including upgrades, migrations, patching, standardisation and obsolescence management, while identifying opportunities to improve system reliability and production performance.
  • Provide technical expertise during troubleshooting, root cause investigations, deviations and corrective and preventive actions, while sharing knowledge with colleagues and exploring technologies that can strengthen future manufacturing capabilities.

To support the production as an advanced Automation Professional you will become part of future on-call establishment.

Who you’ll work with

You will join the IT/OT and automation organisation at our Bagsværd site within Global Manufacturing & Supply. Working closely with colleagues across Production, Quality, Engineering and IT/OT, as well as external partners, you will help ensure our automation, control systems and infrastructure are reliable, compliant, secure and prepared for future demand. You will work in an environment where technical knowledge is shared across disciplines and where your contribution is visible in the solutions that support manufacturing performance, product quality and the patients we serve.

What you can expect here

You will have the opportunity to take ownership of technically complex automation challenges and influence solutions from early design through implementation and lifecycle management.

The role offers broad exposure to production technologies and improvement initiatives, alongside opportunities to build relationships across automation, production, engineering and quality. Most importantly, you will be able to see how your technical expertise contributes to reliable manufacturing and medicines reaching patients.
