Job description

Your impact begins here

As Process Engineering Professional in Kalundborg, you will help keep production stable, capable and improving, working on the line rather than behind a desk. You will analyse performance, find the root cause of equipment and production issues, and put improvements in place together with operators and technical colleagues. Your work helps production run reliably, with the quality and capacity needed to support people living with serious chronic diseases.

What You’ll Bring
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Electrical or a related field. Mechanical Engineering is particularly relevant.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in engineering, production support or technical improvement within manufacturing, including pharmaceutical, food or other industries.
  • Hands‑on production experience and confidence working directly with operators and skilled workers on the production floor.
  • Ability to analyse data, troubleshoot technical issues and apply structured root cause analysis.
  • Ability to plan technical tasks, coordinate stakeholders and follow actions through to completion.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly in English and collaborate effectively with local production teams.
  • An analytical, systematic and hands‑on approach, with ownership and sound judgement when balancing production, safety and quality needs.
Useful, But Not Essential
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing, including knowledge of GMP, change control, deviations, qualification or validation.
  • An advanced degree in Engineering.
What You’ll Do

You will connect production data with the production floor, helping identify losses early, solve problems at the source and sustain improvements.

  • Analyse production downtime, rejects and performance trends to identify losses and emerging issues.
  • Troubleshoot process and equipment issues with operators and skilled workers, document findings and verify corrective actions.
  • Apply structured problem solving to identify root causes, plan and run trials and improvements under approved procedures, and confirm sustained results.
  • Contribute to change controls, risk assessments and technical documentation, assessing changes with relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide process input on equipment changes, supplier evaluations, testing and production ramp‑up, while communicating progress, risks and dependencies.
  • Follow up on production and maintenance issues and elevate safety, quality, capacity and delivery risks to the appropriate owner.
Who You’ll Work With

You will join Maintenance & Engineering in Kalundborg, part of Global Manufacturing & Supply. Your day‑to‑day partners will be production teams, operators and skilled workers, along with Equipment Responsible colleagues, maintenance, automation, engineering and Quality Assurance. You will also work with the ramp‑up team, technical specialists and suppliers. Early, open conversations with these partners help you align priorities and keep work moving.

The role is based in Kalundborg, Denmark. Occasional workshop attendance abroad may be required.

What You Can Expect Here

You will work in a team that values hands‑on expertise and trusts you to take ownership within clear priorities and approved procedures. You will learn from experienced colleagues, share your own knowledge, and build new skills through practical work across production, automation, maintenance and quality.

You will be supported to perform at your best and encouraged to speak up when things stall, so that problems are solved and improvements are delivered with pace and care.

What We Offer

At Novo, you will join a global healthcare company with a distinctive culture and a strong track record. We offer continuous learning, career development and benefits tailored to your life and career stage.
