Qualifikationen

  • Leiten der Yard-Betriebsabläufe in Zusammenarbeit mit Dock-, Empfangs- und Versand-Teams.
  • Optimierung der Kommunikation zwischen Stakeholdern zur Sicherstellung eines reibungslosen Ablaufs der Lastwagen im Yard.
  • Berichten der Yard-Leistung und Identifizieren von Ursachen für Probleme.

The EU Transportation Operations Management team is seeking Area Managers to work in our Amazon EU sites and manage operations in our yards.

The Yard Area Manager is responsible for managing yard operations in coordination with Dock, Receive, and Ship teams to ensure FIFO processing and mitigate CX impact risks. An ideal candidate has a background in transportation operations, excellent program management skills, and the ability to lead and mentor people. They should analyze data and make sound recommendations in often ambiguous environments. A key responsibility is to standardize and improve processes by analyzing and eliminating root causes of defects within current systems. Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence change at local and global levels are essential.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Partner with Site leadership to improve on-time performance of trucks in and out of yards, safety, and customer experience metrics.
  2. Streamline communication between stakeholders to ensure the timely flow of trucks in the yard.
  3. Report yard performance to local site leadership, identify root causes of issues, and drive resolutions.
  4. Lead process improvement initiatives and implement Lean tools.
  5. Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs, measuring activities performed.
  6. Work some weekend shifts as needed to support Amazon’s fulfillment network 7 days a week.
Grundqualifikationen
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or 2+ years Amazon experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel; basic knowledge of SQL or Access.
  • Experience with performance metrics, data-driven decision making, and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Flexibility to work various hours, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fluent in English and preferably one additional language (French, Polish, German, Italian, or Spanish).
Bevorzugte Qualifikationen
  • Master’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Mathematics, Science, or Engineering.
  • Experience in operations, supply chain, logistics, or e-commerce.
  • Experience with Six Sigma / Lean techniques.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and transportation concepts such as forecasting, planning, optimization, logistics, delivery performance, carrier negotiation, inventory management, and S&OP.
