Koud is looking for a WordPress Developer based in LATAM to join the client's team and help them build powerful, high-performance websites using custom Gutenberg blocks, FSE, and modern front-end technologies.

This developer will also work on Figma plugin development that bridges design and WordPress code.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain custom Gutenberg blocks using React + TypeScript;
• Develop Full Site Editing (FSE) themes aligned with modern WordPress practices;
• Collaborate on Figma plugin development using the Figma API and Node.js;
• Write clean, scalable PHP code using object-oriented programming (OOP);
• Optimize performance across frontend, backend, and database layers;
• Work in an AWS + Plesk environment and support reliable, secure deployments.

Requiriments:

• Expertise in custom Gutenberg block development (React + TypeScript + PHP);
• Strong experience in PHP (OOP) and WordPress APIs (theme/plugin/block);
• Proficiency with PHPUnit for backend testing and Jest for frontend/component testing;
• Experience with Node.js, especially for tooling and API integrations;
• Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, Flexbox, and CSS Grid;
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+) and async handling (AJAX, REST APIs);
• Solid understanding of MySQL, database performance tuning, and query optimization;
• Familiarity with Webpack, npm/yarn, Git, and front-end build tools;
• Strong grasp of performance best practices, including lazy loading, caching, and code splitting;
• Awareness of accessibility (a11y) and semantic SEO-friendly HTML;
• Comfortable using Linear, Slack, and Github;
• Able to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code;
• English Fluent/Advanced.

Nice to Have:

• Experience building Figma plugins or working with the Figma API;
• Familiarity with GraphQL in a WordPress context;
• Background in automated testing (Jest, Cypress);
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for WordPress;
• Knowledge of Next.js for headless or hybrid setups;
• Strong understanding of RESTful services beyond WordPress;
• Experience with GitHub Actions for deployment and automation.
