TEKsystems is seeking a VMware & Windows administration engineer for enterprise infrastructure operations in Columbus, OH. The role supports Active Directory and Windows Server environments, VMware platforms, and modernization projects including migrations from VMware Cloud Foundation.

The ideal candidate has expertise in AD, Windows Server, VMware, PowerShell, and data center infrastructure, with collaboration across Windows, Linux, and engineering teams in a large-scale production setting.

We are looking for a strong VMware & Windows administration engineer to support enterprise infrastructure operations and major data center initiatives in Columbus, OH. This individual will be responsible for supporting and administering Active Directory environments, Windows Server infrastructure, VMware platforms, and associated enterprise technologies. The engineer will help maintain operational stability while supporting strategic modernization initiatives, including a migration from VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) to different product.

TOP SKILLS:

1. Deep Active Directory expertise including:
   1. Domains, Forests, Trusts, Group Policy, User and Computer Administration
   2. Strong Windows Server Administration experience: Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022; PowerShell; OS Troubleshooting
2. VMware Administration:
   1. VMware VCF; vCenter; Host Upgrades; VMware Troubleshooting; SSH administration; Operational support
3. Powershell
4. Data center infrastructure experience
5. Virtualization migration experience preferred

Responsibilities include:

• Active Directory administration, including domains, forests, trusts, and group policies
• Windows Server administration across Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022
• VMware administration including vCenter, vSphere, host upgrades, troubleshooting, and infrastructure support
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Supporting enterprise virtualization environments
• Data center operations and infrastructure support
• Server lifecycle management
• Backup and recovery administration
• Participation in infrastructure modernization and migration projects
• Collaboration with Windows, Linux, engineering, and infrastructure teams

The ideal candidate:

Has strong troubleshooting skills, enterprise infrastructure experience, a willingness to learn emerging technologies, and experience operating within large-scale production environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Columbus, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
